The Starrett 196B6 Universal Back Plunger Dial Indicator makes it easy to get accurate, reliable results with a 0 to 100 dial reading and a range of 0.2". First, you choose 1 of the 3 included hardened contact points, then you bring it against the work with enough pressure to give the hand one full turn. You then set the hand at zero by rotating the dial with the knurled bezel.
