The case tapers to a base that is 1 x 1" (2.5 x 2.5 cm) to allow better access to confined areas. Removable top knob (8 to 32 threads) permits both easy handheld use or attachment to stands.

PTC Instruments 402D Aluminum Test Block ASTM Type D, 0.44 x 2.25 x 0.75" 402D

The aluminum test block is used as a field check of type D durometers. It indicates if the durometer is mechanically sound before use. It is a combination of depth gauge and spring force gauge designed to provide consistent results in a wider temperature range than rubber or plastic blocks.

The durometer deadweight test stand is designed to provide the ASTM recommended forces. Compatible with classic or ergo style durometers and of other manufacturers provided it can be mounted on an 8 to 32" thread. It comes with both 1-kg (for ASTM type A, B, E, and O) and 5-kg (ASTM C, D, and DO) weight.
