The aluminum test block is used as a field check of type B durometers. It indicates if the durometer is mechanically sound before use. It is a combination of depth gauge and spring force gauge designed to provide consistent results in a wider temperature range than rubber or plastic blocks.

Compatible with classic or ergo style durometers and of other manufacturers provided it can be mounted on an 8 to 32" thread. It comes with both 1-kg (for ASTM type A, B, E, and O) and 5-kg (ASTM C, D, and DO) weight.
