Spring-held pipe-surface thermometers are designed to measure the surface temperatures of pipes, cylinders, and spindles with outside diameters of 3/4" (19.05 mm) or more. The insulating and seating cup rests on the surface of the pipe and protects the sensor from drafts or heat from other sources.

The bimetallic sensor is ASTM Bimetal TM-2, heat-treated and checked for permanent calibration. The thermometer is attached to the pipe by a high-resiliency, stainless steel spring kit consisting of three stainless steel springs, which can be used separately or connected together for larger-diameter pipes.

Insulating and seating cup:

• The thermometer features an insulating and seating cup that rests on the pipe's surface.
• This cup protects the sensor from drafts and external heat sources, ensuring accurate readings.

Material composition:

• The cup is constructed from high-temperature Ryton polyphenylene sulfide thermoplastic, making it durable and suitable for high-temperature applications.
• The bimetallic sensor complies with ASTM Bimetal TM-2 standards, ensuring quality and performance.

Calibration and response:

• The sensors are heat-treated and undergo permanent calibration checks, offering reliability in measurement.
• With a small thermal mass design, these thermometers provide fast response times and increased sensitivity.

Spring held design:

• The spring-held design allows the thermometer to securely attach to pipes and cylinders.
• For pipes with larger diameters (greater than 6"), two spring kits can be used together to achieve a proper fit around the pipe.
