A high-performance reference source, the Optris BR-500 gives infrared instruments a known, stable temperature to measure against. A large 128 mm aperture and 0.97 emissivity produce a uniform, stable radiating surface, and a Pt100 sensor with PID control holds the setpoint accurate to as tight as ±0.35°C. Temperature is set and monitored from a touch display across 41 to 932°F (5 to 500°C). Its compact, rugged housing suits both calibration labs and on-site verification.
