Omega FP-5300 Paddlewheel Flow Sensor, 1 to 20 FPS, Polypropylene, 180 psi, 1/2" to 4" Pipe

Model: FP-5300

Built for insertion flow measurement, this paddlewheel flow sensor reads 1 to 20 FPS (0.3 to 6.1 m/s) with ±1% accuracy. It uses a polypropylene body and produces a sinusoidal frequency signal proportional to flow. Rated to 180 psi (12.4 bar) for 1/2" to 4" pipe, it works great for irrigation and water-treatment flow monitoring.

OMEGA FP-5300 Offers

Streamline your flow measurement operation with the FP-5300 Series flow sensor. Using this compact flow sensor, a matched sensor installation fitting, an OMEGA(TM) flow meter or controller, and ordinary handtools, you can assemble a complete flow monitoring or controlling system in minutes.

This insertion sensor operates on a simple electromechanical principle, proven in thousands of liquid flow applications worldwide. It all adds up to precision, dependability, and convenience-basic advantages that are quickly surpassing its in-line competition.

Convert your maintenance hours into minutes with the FP-5300. Should a sensor, rotor, or O-ring need to be replaced, it takes only seconds.

Reduce your system downtime substantially with a stand-alone FP-5300 sensor, or simply add a Wet Tap Assembly and eliminate downtime completely. Combined with the FP-5300 during initial installation, the Wet Tap allows sensor removal without system shut-down.

Optional local or remote capability lets you place your meter up to 200 feet away without signal amplification.

Available in a choice of chemically resistant, non-contaminating housing materials, the FP-5300 stands up to the harshest environments. The glass-filled polypropylene housing version is lightweight but strong, which makes it ideal for handling a wide range of liquids, including corrosive fluids in chemical processing.

The sensor works on a simple but precise electromechanical principle based on measuring the rate and volume of flow in your pipe. Four permanent magnets, imbedded in the rotor blades, spin past a coil in the sensor body.

As the fluid flow causes the rotor to move, a sine wave signal is produced, directly proportional to the flowrate. The patented "open cell" feature of the rotor ensures a linear, repeatable output, up to 23 fps, with accuracy of ±0.2 fps. The result is minimal head loss and no cavitation.

Applications

  • Flow monitoring of corrosive fluids in chemical processing
  • Liquid flow measurement in metal or plastic piping systems
  • Insertion flow measurement in pipe sizes from 1/2 to 4 inches
  • Hot-tap sensor removal without system shut-down using the Wet Tap Assembly

Omega FP-5310M Sensor Installation Fitting, Molded, PVC, 1" FP-5310M
Made for mounting an insertion paddlewheel flow sensor into a 1" PVC line, this molded PVC installation fitting mounts on the pipe and holds the sensor in the flow. It is rated to 12.1 bar (175 psi) at 75°F (24°C). Works great for water and chemical-compatible fluid lines using insertion paddlewheel flow sensors.

Omega FLSC-AMP Turbine Flow Sensor Amplifier, 20 mV to 50 V Input, Open-Collector Output, 0-15 kHz, 11-26 V DC Powered FLSC-AMP
Made for boosting the weak magnetic-pickup signal from a turbine flow sensor, this low-level amplifier raises it to a usable level for ratemeters, counters, and displays. It runs on an 11 to 26 V DC supply, accepts 20 mV to 50 V input, and provides an open-collector pulse output. It tracks pulse rates from ultra-low speed up to 15 kHz. Works great for turbine and paddle-wheel flow pickups.
