Dent PS3 PowerScout3+ Power Metering Transducers

DENT's PowerScout™ 3 Plus is a single-point 3-phase submeter that is compatible with either BACnet or Modbus communications protocols. It was designed to provide timely and accurate consumption data necessary to gain the upper hand on electrical costs in today's escalating energy market. These meters can capture kWh/kW energy and demand data as well as virtually all relevant energy parameters for diagnostics and monitoring. PowerScout 3 Plus meters meet the stringent ANSI C12.20-2010 Class 0.2 accuracy standard.

The PowerScout's flexibility, size, and ease-of-use make them ideal tools for gathering detailed consumption information in commercial, industrial, government and retail environments.

Installing the PowerScout 3 Plus is simple thanks to color-coded voltage leads and clearly labeled CTs. DENT's patented PhaseChek™ circuitry includes a three LED indicator display that confirms proper CT-to-phase installation. The PowerScout 3 Plus automatically adjusts for CT orientation, greatly reducing set-up time and all but eliminating installation errors.

The PowerScout 3 Plus uses direct connections to each phase of the voltage and various pre-wired CT options such as split-core current transformers or flexible Rogowski coils (for large loads or large cables and busbars) to monitor current on each phase.

The communications interface to the PowerScout 3 Plus is an RS-422/485 serial connection that uses the BACnet Master Slave Token Passing (MS/TP) protocol or Modbus protocol for sending commands and retrieving data. A separate BACnet client (Data Logger, or Building Management and Control System) is usually connected to the PowerScout 3 Plus for BACnet. A separate remote terminal unit (RTU), Data Logger, or Building Management and Control System is usually connected to the PowerScout 3 Plus for Modbus mode. This separate unit provides data recording and trend logging plus a human interface or display.

Up to 127 PowerScout 3 Plus meters may be connected to a single BACnet client for monitoring and recording power usage at multiple locations within a single site. Up to 254 meters may be connected to Modbus.

NOTE: PowerScout Meters require the purchase of factory-matched CTs. A wide range of CTs is available under the accessories tab or by adding this product to your shopping cart.
