APG pressure transmitters are used throughout the industry, in both process and storage environments. The PT families are built for industrial applications, pressure ranges up to 10,000 psi and they are suitable for both liquids and gasses. Designed for extreme environments; built to provide accurate measurements, have a long life expectancy, and highly used in the oil & gas industry where demanding conditions are further complicated by hazardous classified areas.

Functions
Pressure transmitters, are the same as pressure transducers, they use piezoresistive technology to accurately measure pressure. This all happens from the small circuit called a Wheatstone bridge attached to the back of the diaphragm. When the diaphragm flexes from pressure, the resistance in the Wheatstone bridge changes relative to pressure, providing a basic measurement.
When mounting the sensing element to the pressure transmitter diaphragm, there are a few different methods; some perform better in low pressure environments, others in high pressure. Depending on the configuration of your sensor, we'll use the best method.
Once you have your measurement, the transmitter conditions the signal to the output you have chosen and sends it off to your control system.
