Measuring AC andDC Currents
LeCroy current probes do notr equire the breaking of a circuitor the insertion of a shunt to make accurate and reliable currentmeasurements. Based on a combinationof Hall effect and transformertechnology, LeCroy current probesare ideal for making accurate AC, DC,and impulse current measurements.
Fully Integrated withOscilloscope
Many current probes require externalpower supplies or amplifiers to displaya waveform on the oscilloscopescreen. All LeCroy current probesare powered through the LeCroyProBus® connection and requireno additional hardware. Alongwith providing power, the ProBusconnection allows the current probeand oscilloscope to communicate, resulting in current waveformsautomatically displayed on screenin Amps, and calculated power tracesscaled correctly in Watts. This fullintegration also allows for Degaussand Autozero functions to be donedirectly from the oscilloscope witha single button press.
Applications
LeCroy current probes are availablein a wide range of models for awide range of applications. Thefull range of LeCroy current probesincludes models with bandwidthsup to 100 MHz, peak currents up to700 A and sensitivities to 10 mA/div.Multiple current probes can be usedtogether to make measurementson three-phase systems, or a singlecurrent probe can be used with avoltage probe to make accurateinstantaneous power measurements.LeCroy current probes are often usedin applications such as the design andtest of switching power supplies, motor drives, electric vehicles, anduninterruptible power supplies.
